Multicriteria Decision-Making Methods in Selecting Seismic Upgrading Strategy of High-Rise RC Wall Buildings

Reinforced concrete (RC) structural walls are widely used in high-rise structures earthquake-prone areas. Damaged by the earthquakes past decades, these buildings need retrofitting order to increase resilience of with shear walls. This study aimed investigate RC wall using energy dissipation devices. To this end, a total four 15, 20, 25, and 30 stories equipped as their lateral load-resisting system were retrofitted passive seismic control systems. The subjected set far-field near-field records presented FEMA standard (P-695), an index was defined relate responses building, such drift, acceleration, velocity, displacement, base shear, earthquake records. For purpose, numerical models, which have been validated experimental results, performed. resulting values considered criteria, systems ranked efficient Multicriteria Decision Making (MCDM) method. Based on results from MCDM method friction damper first among available devices for buildings.
